Ford India also extends its association with SAMVAD, dedicated to meaningful conversation and dialogue with children and young adults at JLF. Ford intends to highlight the the importance of holistic education for future generations. The auto manufacturer’s ‘Happy Schools’ initiative was announced at JLF 2014.
Through Happy Schools, Ford India partners with reputed NGOs in to collectively conceptualize and design a social intervention model to addresses known gaps specific to each school. Happy Schools answers shortcomings in the field of education through academic support, health, nutrition, and infrastructure requirements, enabling select schools to impart holistic education.
As exclusive sponsor of SAMVAD at Jaipur Literature Festival, Ford India looks to inspire future generations by means of dialogue with renowned thinkers and top-achievers on relevant topics. In 2014, Ford Samvad hosted Prasoon Joshi, Astad Deboo and Dayanita Singh among others.
This year, SAMVAD welcomes Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, Girish Karnad, Prasoon Joshi, Ibukun Olatunji, Devdutt Pattanaik, Pallava Bagla and Cat Weatherill among others. The automaker’s ‘Go Further’ journey in India goes from strength to strength based on community outreach initiatives that come to fruition through volunteer-led engagement and involvement programs.
Ford India hosted the HappySchoolTales contest starts from 16-18 January. Those following Ford India Twitter page and/or Ford India Facebook Page participated by writing short updates of their childhood experiences from school. Selected winners were awarded prize vouchers. Upto 4 lucky winners stand a chance to win a paid trip (inclusive of travel and accommodation only) to Jaipur from 23rd – 25th Jan, 2015.
