New Delhi: Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL)reports domestic sales of 37,305 units (PY 34,005 units) and exports of 10,307 units (PY 12,500 units). This equates to 9.7 pct sales growth in domestic sales, and 17.5 pct decline in exports. Cumulative sales of 47,612 units (PY 46,505 units) in February 2015 equates to 2.4 pct growth./a> 10,264 units of Hyundai Elite i20 propels company sales growth in February 2015.
Rakesh Srivastava, Sr. VP- Sales and Marketing, HMIL says Hyundai volumes registered growth on the strength of strong performance of Elite i20 with 10,264 units. Growth in additional and repeat buyers is higher than that of first time buyers. Reduction in interest rates could break the low growth trend, and initiate double digit growth. Hyundai india will launch its i20 Active Cross soon.
Maruti Suzuki India Limited sold a total of 118,551 units (PY 109104 units) in February 2015, registering 8.7 pct sales growth. This includes 107,892 units in domestic market (PY 99758 units) equating to 8.2 pct sales growth. 10,659 units in exports (PY 9346 units) equates to 14 pct growth.
Total A segment passenger vehicle sales stood at 90728 units (PY 84595 units) equating to 7.2 pct sales growth. In Mini A segment, Alto and WagonR sales accounted for 39988 units (PY 37342 units) equating to 7.1 pct growth. In Compact A segment, Swift, Ritz, Celerio, and Dzire sales accounted for 42778 units (PY 45721 units), equating to 6.4 pct sales decline. In Super Compact segment, 2552 units of Dzire Tour were sold (PY 1304), equating to 95.7 pct growth. Mid Size A segment offerings SX4 and Ciaz reports 5410 units sold (PY 228 units) to register 2272.8 pct sales growth.
Maruti Suzuki B segment Utility vehicles, Gypsy, Grand Vitara, and Ertiga sales contributed to 5863 units (PY 5231 units), equating to 12.1 pct sales growth. C segment Vans, Omni, and Eeco sales stood at 11301 units (PY 9932 units), equating to 13.8 pct sales growth.
