Xcent is available with 2 engine options, 1.1 litre advanced 2nd generation U2 CRDi diesel and 1.2 litre Kappa Dual VTVT petrol for optimum performance and high fuel economy. The 2nd generation U2 CRDi diesel delivers 72PS@4000rpm of maximum power and 18.4kgm @1750 – 2500rpm of peak torque with mileage of 24.4kmpl (ARAI certified).
U2 CRDi diesel engine is Euro V ready with low emission and NVH levels, operating at a high pressure of 1,800 bar. The resultant high low end torque ensures lesser gear shifts in city driving. Linear power delivery and flat torque over wide range of rpm’s facilitates smooth and jerk free drive. U2 CRDi diesel is mated with a 5-speed manual transmission, and the turbocharger is improved for better throttle response and acceleration.
All-aluminum 1.2 litre Kappa petrol engine with dual VTVT mechanism returns 83PS@6000rpm of maximum power and 11.6 kgm@4000 rpm of peak torque with mileage of 19.1kmpl (ARAI figure). The petrol engine offers the choice of 5-speed manual transmission and 4- speed Automatic Transmission.
