Jaguar’s new In-Control infotainment system has been designed and developed in-house and consists of an 8 inch touchscreen interface, smartphone integration with iOS and Android units and will also have the ability to act as a WiFi hotspot for multiple devices.
Another notable feature is its in-Control Remote which allows users to connect to the car remotely, pre-set heating and cooling devices, locate the car in a parking lot and even unlock the car and start up the engine. This system also operates as a tracking device which comes into play in the event of theft, displaying the car’s location. While these are industry firsts on board the new Jaguar XE another first includes a laser projection for head up display indicating speed and navigation updates.
Jaguar XE makes its global public debut at Paris Motor Show in October this year. It promises a smoother ride, sharper steering, quieter interiors and seamless connectivity. Jaguar XE competes with BMW 3 Series, Mercedes-Benz C-Class and Audi A4. It is being designed and developed in the UK and will be the first Jaguar manufactured at the company’s new production facility in Solihull plant in West Midlands, UK.
