Road Safety Week was flagged off with a Road Safety Walk in the company of Vikram Malhotra, Marketing Director, JK Tyre & Industries Limited, Vijay Chhibber, Secretary, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways and Dr. Muktesh Chander, Special Commissioner of Police Traffic, Delhi. Participants walked from Rajpath to Shastri Bhawan.
JK Tyre volunteers will be be found in prominent Delhi locations between 11-17th January, in association with Traffic Police to create Road Safety awareness. Vikram Malhotra, Marketing Director, JK Tyre & Industries limited says JK has always been a socially responsible corporate citizen and made available resources to enhance road safety matters. JK takes pride in partnering with Delhi Police, as teh latter continuously makes efforts to make Delhi roads safer for us.
As the number of vehicles increases, individuals and organisations need to unite and address road safety issues. As per Delhi Police records, number of fatal accidents in Delhi has reduced, but current numbers are a matter of concern. In January each year, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) observes National Road Safety Week to create awareness among citizens. Being held from 11-17 January 2015, NCC Cadets and NGOs will participate.
JK Tyre promotes safe driving through programmes and partnerships with governmental and non-governmental units for on-ground campaigns, driver training programmes, motor rallies and media campaigns.
