KTM RC 200 and RC 390 launch price- Rs 1.6 and Rs 2.05 lakhs respectively
Based on the Duke 200 and Duke 390, the price of RC Series is about Rs 20k to Rs 25k. Speaking to a dealer in Delhi today, Duke 200 is priced at Rs 1.35 lakhs while Duke 390 is priced at Rs 1.85 lakhs (ex-showroom). The on road price of the Duke cousin’s in Delhi are Rs 1.50 lakhs and Rs 2.06 lakhs respectively.
Both the KTM models RC 200 and RC 390 boast of WP suspension system with inverted telescopic forks in the front and monoshocks at the rear. The two KTM models get dual headlamp elements, LED daytime running lights and share a host of other updates and can only be told apart due to their color themes and badges. Another important point to be noted, RC 200, just like the Duke 200, does not come with ABS and Metzeler tyres. However, the RC 390, just like the Duke 390 will get both these as standard.
KTM RC 200 and RC 390 offer an upright riding stance as seen on street fighters adding to its sporty appeal while steering angle and wheelbase has been modified for added handling facilities. Steering angle has been increased as compared to that seen on the Duke counterparts from 65 degrees to 66.5 degrees while wheelbase is reduced by 27mm.
As far as techspecs is concerned, the rumours about RC 200 and RC 390 having different gear ratios which offered higher top speed, were refuted. Only one variant will on offer, and it has the same techspecs as that of Duke 200 and Duke 390. RC 200 will come with 200 cc engine delivering 25 hp power and 19 Nm torque, whereas the RC 390 will have 373 cc engine generating 43 hp power and 35 Nm torque. Both bikes come with 6 speed gearbox and a liquid cooled engine.
KTM has seen enormous success where KTM Duke 200 and Duke 390 are concerned and expect that the new KTM RC 200 and RC 390 will be as well accepted by biking aficionados in the country. Bookings will officially commence from tomorrow (unofficial bookings have already begun), across their 150 dealers in India. Booking amount is set at Rs 30,000.
For those who would like to customize, Bajaj offers two styling options – called Style and Race, as seen in the image below. Regular variants will be available in just one colour scheme, white for RC 390 and Black for RC 200.
