KTM RC 390 are already being produced at the Bajaj Chakan plant along with RC 200, and RC125. This is the same plant where the Duke 125, 200 and 390 are also produced. RC 390 sportsbike is expected to be launched in India this year, and has already been spotted actively being tested under heavy camouflage. Bookings of RC 390 are slated to commence at the end of August, while launch is pegged for September.
The upcoming RC 390 will be powered by a small and light-weight 373 cc single cylinder, water cooled engine offering 43 bhp peak power and mated to a 6 speed gearbox. The faired version, akin to its track ready variant will be seen in an angular design with dual headlamps, trellis frame and elements such as rear view mirrors, integrated indicator and visor added to make it road legal.
Its dashboard will sport a multifunction screen displaying a speedo, gear indicators, digital clock, fuel gauge, running time and all necessary information leaving no questions unanswered. Braking system, developed in association with Brembo, will include a 300mm front disc brake and 230mm rear disc brake besides standard ABS. Tyres are full size with racing dimensions of 110/70 R17 front and 150/60 R17 rear. India pricing is expected to be in the range of INR 2.3-2.6 lakhs.
