A Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera and Ferrari 458 Spyder collided near Beijing National Stadium on Saturday night. Both drivers suffered minor injuries after the high speed crash in the North Beach section of Beijing Datun Road tunnel.
It is suggested both drivers were from the same automobile club, and were outpacing each other at the time of crash. With both cars going at formidable speed, impact of collision has resulted in noticeable damage. The unorganised drag racing episode saw the Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera and Ferrari 458 Spyder make contact in trying to go ahead. The overtaking manoeuvre gone wrong saw both cars veer right. The Lamborghini hit the right side of the tunner wall, before going into the buffer zone.
While the destroyed Superleggera may still have plenty left, it looks a goner now. The Ferrari sees red with severe damage on the right side, and is left with a door that doesn’t fit. There’s no skid marks to follow, but the impact spot on the wall was heavily grazed. The tunnel divider no longer follows the path it was set on.
In overtaking the Ferrari, the Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera touched it and set it off path while it went onto hit the wall, before hitting the divider. The tunnel road block was quickly looked into as cops were quick to arrive and take stock of the situation.
