Mahindra Tractors sales decline by 8.7% for 2012 October


Tractor sales of Mahindra and Mahindra Farm Equipment Sector have seen a dip in demand. Sales declined 8.7% to 28,872 units in domestic markets as against 30,519 units in October 2011. Taking into account total tractor sales both domestic and exports during the month of October 2012 the company sold 29,565 units as against 31,838 units in the same month of the previous year with exports at 693 units.

Total sales of Mahindra and Mahindra, India’s leading manufacturers of utility vehicles, SUVs and Jeeps along with commercial vehicles and passenger cars saw sales to the tune of 53,438 units in October 2012 as against 41,506 units in October 2011 resulting in a growth of 28.7%.

Taking only domestic sales into account, the company sold 51,316 units in the country in October 2012 while this figure stood at 39,352 a year earlier resulting in a 30.4% increase. Passenger vehicle sales during the month of October 2012 stood at 26,932 units while in October 2011 this was at 18,756 units, up 43.6%.
