Maruti Suzuki Ciaz – codenamed YL1, is based on Suzuki Authentics concept which was also seen at the 2013 Shanghai Auto Show. Slated to come in as a replacement of SX4 sedan, the new Ciaz receives a host of features from the Kizashi sedan and is seen in a black and beige interior with faux wood inserts.
Dynamic in body shape with well defined character lines, the new Ciaz from Maruti Suzuki adopts a long wheelbase and low height design while various chrome detailing is seen on the exterior giving the Ciaz a sporty and aerodynamic appeal.
The new Ciaz is expected to receive a 1.6 liter petrol engine from the Ertiga MUV producing 115 bhp and 150 Nm torque, along with a 1.6 liter diesel engine producing 94 bhp and 130 Nm torque. The engines may be mated to 5 speed manual or AMT units from the Celerio hatchback.
Once launched the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz could compete with Renault Scala, Nissan Sunny, Honda City, Hyundai Verna and VW Vento and though no prices have been revealed, the Ciaz could fit into the price bracket of INR 7.7 lakhs to INR 12 lakhs.
