Mercedes Benz has long been harboring hopes of a 4MATIC designation for all their models in the. This, the company wished to see on their C and CL Class vehicles and also on their SUVs. Finally this day has come when Mercedes has announced details of a fifth 4MATIC system which will make its way on all their Class’s. It will first debut on the upcoming CLA compact sport saloon and its AMG performance version, CLA 45 AMG.
Beginning next year, Mercedes Benz will offer this new variant with 4MATIC and fully variable torque distribution. The new system will be based on all wheel drive architecture with transversely mounted engines. It will possess high tractive power reserves and enhanced agility along with enhanced driving safety and energy efficiency.
This will result in 4×4 technology tailored to the specific needs of vehicles in its category right from the CLA and models like C, E, S, CLS and CL Class and will also extend to the range of SUVs including GLK, M, GL Class and G Class. For more information, scroll down.
