Mercedes Benz CLA sedan sales cross 1 lakh, India launch soon

Besides the CLA, it is sales of the new generation of compact cars from Mercedes Benz that have seen increased sales with over 800,000 units sold while since January 2014 more than 250,000 units of A, B, GLA, CLA Class vehicles have been sold.

Mercedes Benz, as a part of their ‘Mercedes Benz 2020’ strategy is putting forth an extensive model range. This model range will not only continue to capture the attention of company’s loyal customers, but will also reach out to younger and newer target groups. This is particularly seen on the case of CLA and A Class vehicles which have found favour with significantly younger buyers across the globe.

In US, Mercedes Benz CLA is the first compact segment car to go on sale and has thus noted increased sales and appeal for drivers with an average age of 45 years. With CLA being offered as an AMG model from September 2013, demand was stepped up with growth of around 20% seen in key US markets as compared to growth in the previous year.

Produced from Mercedes Benz plant in Kecskemét, Hungary, the Mercedes Benz CLA will soon by joined by CLA Shooting Brake, due to be added to the compact car line-up by mid 2015.

As far India launch of new CLA sedan is concerned, Mercedes Benz India have confirmed that the car will be launched by January 2015. Once launched, it will compete with Audi A3 sedan, which is priced at Rs 23 lakhs.
