Michael Schumacher’s Benetton F1 car sells for Rs 6.3 crore

Schumacher's 1994 Benetton Racer Sells for $1.01 Million (1)Listed in Lot 32, Chassis no. B194-05 sold for £617,500 (INR 63,058,931) inc. premium. Chassis ‘B194-05’ has the actual monocoque fuselage and helped the German driver win 4 races that season at San Marino, Montreal, Monaco and Magny-Cours. It’s the same dark year of Ayrton Senna’s fatal accident at Imola.

Of the 92 points Michael Schumacher scored that year, Chassis no. B194-05 accounted for 46. After the race year, ‘B194-05’ was retained at Benetton’s base at Enstone, Oxfordshire in a secure dehumidified storage. In 2000, Benetton was sold to Renault. In 2000, the F1 car was sold to Matthew Mortlock, and purchased by the current seller in January 2008 and through the next 2 years the car was rebuilt.
