The New Audi Q7 is all set to launch in India on December 10. The flagship luxury SUV emerges as a much improved product over the highly successful outgoing model in every respect.
For starters, the new gen model is lighter by up to 300 kg and that has a huge positive impact of dynamics, performance, fuel efficiency and CO2 emissions. All credit goes to the multi material MLB rear wheel drive architecture. The overall dimensions are marginally smaller but the new Q7 continues to be an imposing automobile.
The luxury 7-seater adopts a brand new design language which clean surfaces and well accentuated edges. The hexagonal SingleFrame chrome grille, sleek LED headlamps, a less bulky (compared to its predecessor) profile and a neat rear fascia with LED taillights are the exterior design highlights.
Interior too is vastly different (read improved) from what the outgoing model offers. The modern layout sports dual-tone color theme and the AC vents are neatly camouflaged within the dashboard trim. The higher variants offer the Audi Virtual Cockpit configurable instrument console display.
The India-spec 2016 Q7 would be powered by a 3.0-litre TDI diesel engine mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission with padddle shifters. quattro AWD system will be standard. Power and torque figures stand at 268 bhp and 600 Nm of torque.

The new Audi Q7 is expected to be imported as a CBU initially. CKD operation at the company’s Aurangabad facility is likely to commence in 2016.
