Ninja 300 launch today: Will KTM Duke 390 show itself?


KTM, the Austrian bike manufacturer, is looking forward to attract a younger and more adventure seeking generation of bikers with the launch of their 390 Duke in India. So, at the launch of Ninja 300 in Pune today, you can expect the Duke 390 to be revealed for the first time.

ninja 300 indiaThe new Duke 390 is stylish and with advanced design features is expected to come in at a price of INR 2.5 lakhs, while the new Ninja 300, is a meatier superbike, whose price can be expected to go up to INR 3.5 lakhs. Both KTM Duke 390 and Kawasaki Ninja 300 are being introduced in India by Bajaj Auto.

2013 Kawasaki Ninja 300 is powered by a 296 cc liquid cooled engine, the 2013 Ninja 300 delivers 39 PS peak power and 27 Nm torque. Front tire size is now at 110/70-17 while rear size is 140/70-17. Overall dimensions stand at 79.3 x 28.1 x 43.7 inches while weight is at 383.7 lbs. You can find the image gallery of Ninja 300 here.

Features of 390 Duke are similar in some respects to both, Duke 200 and Duke 125. It is powered by a single cylinder 373cc engine. The engine is liquid cooled, fuel injected, 4 stroke engine offering peak output of 44 bhp at 9500 rpm and peak torque of 35 Nm at 7250 rpm, and is mated to a 6 speed gearbox.

The 390 Duke weighs 139 kgs and possesses a top speed of 160 kmph. It has a hydraulic operated clutch with fuel and ignition system while other features include a 9M ABS model of Bosch ABS unit which is offered as an option. This unit has sensors situated at both wheels that are linked to an independent microchip. Due to this system, engine torque is monitored which can enhance braking capacity.
