Peugeot Citroen awards Tata Steel Core Supplier status
The announcement was made at a special function held last week, at Tata Steel Ijmuiden plant in the Netherlands. Tata Steel came up as a winner and was selected for this prestigious award due to its excellent product line, global presence and ability to accomplish the best of the best where industrial performance is concerned.
PSA Peugeot Citroen is on its way to becoming a world player. The company is concentrating on exports with as much as 50 percent of their sales by 2015 to be outside of Europe. PSA Peugeot Citroen has been closely associated with Tata Steel in Europe for over 30 years and it is this alliance that has ensured that both companies benefit each other. Procurement of lightweight steel from Tata Steel is what has contributed to PSA Citroen car range in lightweight materials which goes a long way in reducing its carbon footprint. The company benefits from the commitment of Tata Steel in supplying them with highest quality of material while employees of the companies share a special relationship with each other.
