Renault Duster has been a success, right from the day it was launched. Earlier this week, Renault Duster was honored as the 2013 Indian Car of the Year. Not only Duster has managed to lift Renault India car sales to a different level, but also managed to feature itself in the top 15 cars sold list in India. What is even surprising, is the fact that Duster sales have outclassed Mahindra Scorpio and XUV500 sales.
Prior to the launch of Renault Duster, which took place on 4th July 2012, Renault India sold a total of 4,447 cars in the six month period of Jan-June 2012 period. Since the launch of Duster, Renault India has sold 24,786 cars for the five month period of July-Nov 2012, of which 19,246 units have been due to Renault Duster.
Earlier in November, Marc Nassif, MD Renault India Pvt. Ltd said, “We are highly pleased with our sales figures and we are glad to see that the Indian customer has accepted Renault products very well, especially the Renault Duster. We at Renault are very positive towards our entire product range and our growing dealer network has also added to our growth in sales and reaching the customers on a pan-India level. Although the market sentiments are not as buoyant as in the previous year during the festive season, we still believe that we will be able to achieve our targets and continue on our growth trajectory in the coming months.”
