BMW owned British luxury car brand, Rolls Royce is offering special editions of their two models, Phantom and Ghost in India, called the Wedding Edition. Indians are known for their lavish weddings. The wedding season in India begins by the 30th of October. So as far as timing is concerned, Rolls Royce has got it bang on target.
Sales of luxury cars in India is on the rise. Since 2005, Rolls Royce has sold more than 200 cars in India. Rolls Royce offers Ghost in India for a price of Rs Rs 2.5 crores to 3 crores while the Phantom is available for Rs 4.5 crores. In order to promote their cars, Rolls Royce is offering Wedding Editions of both Ghost and Phantom.
Herfried Hasenoehrl, GM, emerging markets – Asia, has confirmed that they already have two couples, who are currently in talks with Rolls Royce India dealers for these wedding edition RR cars. As part of Wedding Edition, Rolls Royce will offer a choice of selecting their own colors, veneers, special engravings, embossing of names, and much more.
Sales of luxury cars in India is expected to grow by 50% this year. Last year in 2011, India bought about 100 units of ultra luxury cars. Currently, India is 3rd in Asia Pacific, but has the potential to become the largest consumer of luxury cars by 2015. By 2015, Rolls Royce aims to sell 130-150 cars annually in India.
