Sachin Tendulkar presides over Castrol Mechanic Awards: Top three winners given a Tata Nano small car each
At the national finals of the Castrol Golden Spanner Awards, the All India Castrol Golden Spanner Ustaad Mechanic Award went to Kalka Prasad from West Motors, Chandigarh. The search was for India’s best car mechanic. 300 mechanics participated from across 16 Indian cities. The final 17 battled it out in the Mumbai finals.
The final 3 rounds of contests included a jigsaw puzzle, quiz, and a live car diagnostic / repair test. Winning car mechanic Kalka Prasad won all three rounds, and proved his mettle as master maestro in regards to skills and knowledge pertaining to car repair, and cars.
As a winner, Kalka Prasad received a Grand prize of Rs. 4 lakhs that can be used to upgrade his garage. He is also the proud owner of a Tata Nano Car now and will find himself featured on Castrol GTX engine oil packs. The runner up too was given a TATA Nano Car alongside a cash reward of Rs. 1 lakh. The secnd runner up won a Tata Nano small car. All 17 finalists will be trained at the Castrol Academy and would be awarded commendation certificates. Castrol brand ambassador, Sachin Tendulkar did the honors at the Castrol Golden Spanner Awards presentation.
