Skoda India sales up 89 percent in June 2012: Skoda Rapid leads the way
Skoda Auto India sales during the month of June reached 4,923 units as the company recorded growth of 89% during the month as against 2,610 units in June 2011. Despite adverse market conditions, higher prices of fuel, increasing auto loan rates and a general dampening of buyer enthusiasm in the overall auto markets, Skoda Auto India has done exceedingly well in the month of June.
This sales growth could be attributed to the success of Skoda Rapid of which the company sold 3,246 units during June 2012. Skoda Fabia registered sales of 594 units, Skoda Laura 643 units, Skoda Superb 272 units and Skoda Yeti 168 units. Skoda Rapid is looked upon as a value for money vehicle which has always received strong reception ever since it was launched. Skoda Auto also launched Superb Ambition at a price of Rs.18 lakhs which has also seen tremendous demand in the past two months since its launch.
Considering its hearty growth in the Indian market, a market which the company entered more than a decade ago, Skoda Auto is keen to increase their dealer networks and after sales service centers in a bid to enhance customer satisfaction. Skoda Auto currently has 106 dealers in India.
