Set to take on the likes of Mahindra XUV500, Tata Hexa SUV is being readied for launch in the coming months. Spied testing near Kolhapur, Tata Hexa SUV will be powered by a 2.2-litre VARICOR 400 diesel engine that powers the new Tata Safari Storme VariCOR 400. This engine on board the Hexa will generate 154 bhp power and 400 Nm torque and will be mated to 6 speed automatic transmission or 6 speed manual transmission.
Measuring 4,764 mm in length, 1,895 mm in width and 1,780 mm in height, Tata Hexa SUV has a long wheelbase of 2,850 mm thereby resulting in spacious interiors for upto 8 adults.
Exteriors feature electric ORVMs integrated with turn mirrors, projector headlamps with LED DRLs, a honeycomb radiator grille with chrome slats, LED fog lights on front bumper and LED tail lamps. Tata Hexa is slated for launch in India sometime between July to September 2016.
The new spy shots also detail the interiors of Tata Hexa SUV for the first time. The photos clearly indicate onboard equipment and controls. Dashboard and inner door panels have also been upgraded as compared to those seen on the Tata Aria.
Set to sport a Harman infotainment system with touchscreen display, the Tata Hexa SUV in question was in near production guise with a new steering wheel design and controls to Terrain Management System (TMS). The TMS was first seen on Tata Hexa concept which was on display at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. A central control knob allows drivers to select between Auto, Comfort and Dynamic suspension settings.
