2012 had seen the company, a foremost automobile manufacturer in the country, suffer adversely where market share and market position is concerned. With Karl Slym in control, Tata Motors now looks ahead at the New Year to regain lost ground and step on the gas where competition is concerned.
So how will Tata compete with new and emerging rivals, along with the existing one’s- by launching new cars. It’s been really long to survive on just brand Indica. They also have the Safari and Nano, but as of now, they are nowhere next to meeting their expectations. Tata has revealed their future plans, but as of now they have not revealed to launch a new vehicle, but cars based on the existing models. The launch of Nano diesel, Nano 800 cc and Nano CNG are expected to take place this year.

Apart from the Nano diesel, Nano 800 cc petrol is also on its way in and expected to be launched in coming months. Here, one will see new front and rear bumpers, a new tail lamp cluster and enhanced storage space in its boot. Extending the Nano reach will also be a CNG variant which is still undergoing tests but should be ready for markets by mid 2013.
Manza/Vista CS will be taking advantage of excise cuts being in the sub 4 meter segment, while the company is also working with ZF to introduce a six speed torque converter for their Aria and Safari. This technology was earlier seen at the 2012 Delhi Auto Expo and expected to make its way into these models soon. A Scout version of Tata Vista D90 in concept form was presented at New Delhi last week and the company is in the process of assessing feedback where this vehicle is concerned.
