Toyota Kirloskar Motors (TKM) was spied testing the 2016 Innova at Mysore Ring Road in Karnataka. New spy shots give a much clearer look at the MPV’s C and D pillar design.
This is not the first time that the new Innova has been spied. Earlier spy shots have given us a glimpse at the front and interiors. Headlights and taillights are now seen in a horizontal position as per Toyota’s global design language while in-car updates will include a new three spoke steering wheel as seen on the new Corolla, steering mounted controls and a large TFT display screen which could only be offered on the top end variant. Dashboard layout has also been revised while interiors sport quality material giving the 2016 Innova a more premium look.
2016 Toyota Innova will be longer than the current model though retaining same width and height. This increase in length could result in more interior comfort and additional leg room.

Currently, Innova gets a 100 bhp 200 Nm 2.5 liter diesel engine. This engine not only feels under-powered, but is also less efficient as compared to competition. Toyota is expected to update the engine as well to offer better performance and efficiency.
Toyota Innova, introduced in India in 2005, continues to remain the best selling model in the company lineup with average monthly sales of over 5k units. But with launch of new cars in the segment, like Honda Mobilio, Nissan Evalia, Chevrolet Enjoy and Maruti Ertiga (soon to be launched Renault Lodgy), it is only befitting that the Japanese car maker updates their offering. Once launched, Innova is expected to get a price tag in the range of Rs 9-15 lakhs.
