TVS Apache 200 Indonesia launch

TVS Apache 200 has been launched in Indonesia first.

New TVS Apache 200, officially named as the Apache RTR 200 4V receives a 197.75cc, four stroke, oil-cum-air cooled, single pot engine capable of 21 PS power and 18.1 Nm torque mated to a 5 speed gearbox. It gets state of the art fuel injection carburetion system from Bosch (India will not get the FI system). Acceleration from 0 to 100 kmph is achieved in 3.9 seconds while 0-100 kmph is achieved in 11.2 seconds.

Not the lightest, it has a kerb weight of 148.5 kgs. The new TVS Apache RTR 200 4V receives black alloy wheels inspired by a TVS Draken concept, LED tail lamps and a fully digital instrument cluster. It is also seen with clip on handle bars, split seats and is being offered in 3 new color options (India gets six colour options, while specs remains unchanged).

Speaking about the new bike, TVS Indonesia says – “With experience in TVS Racing, we believe this bike is a revolutionary product, have the performance, handling and stylish.”

Dimensions of new TVS Apache 200 stand at 2050 mm long, 1015 mm tall, 790 mm wide, with a wheelbase of 1353 mm. It has a ground clearance of 180 mm and saddle height of 800 mm.

Priced at IDR 23.9 million (INR 1.17 lakh) in Indonesia, Indian launch of new TVS Apache 200 is scheduled for 1 PM today in Chennai. In India, it will be offered in six colours of black, grey, red, matte black, white and yellow, the new Apache sports telescopic front suspension and monoshock at the rear. Brakes are handled by 270mm petal discs in the front and 240mm petal discs at the rear. India gets optional dual channel ABS.

  • Damn.. Bajaj was earlier pointing out racing experience need not turn out to be expertise of good bikes. TVS has proved him wrong. I hope this gains a good following here in India. I was never a fan of TVS with their earlier engine deteriorating faster than the oil market. In recent times, TVS has redeemed itself a lot, at least for me. Their standards are going up. I hope they don’t blow it.
