TVS Scooty Zest launch in India on August 20

Showcased at 2014 Auto Expo earlier this year and touted as the most feature filled two wheeler in the Scooty range, TVS Scooty Zest gears up for launch in India on August 20, 2014. TVS Scooty Zest will be an 110cc scooter and slated to be priced at INR 47,500, ex-showroom.

TVS Scooty Zest 110 cc scooter (1)TVS Scooty Zest, positioned below the Wego and Jupiter, will be powered by an 110cc CVTi engine borrowed from Wego and Jupiter capable of 7.88 bhp power at 7,500 rpm and 8 Nm torque at 5,500 rpm, mated to a V-Matic CVT transmission. This engine will be able to deliver claimed fuel efficiency of 62 kmpl.

Scooty Zest, with electric and kick start, comes in with a new design with revised headlamps, new two toned front apron, instrument console, larger seat and new tail section. Its design will also include new grab rails and LED tail lights with a TVS logo in black. TVS Scooty will be seen with telescopic forks in from while the rear gets monoshock. It will sit on 90/80 10” tyres as against 3.00×10” tyres seen on its earlier counterpart.

With increased demand for automatic scooters in the country, TVS Scooty Zest is expected to take company sales a notch up, even though it will find many competitors in the country in the form of Honda Activa, Honda Activa i, Honda Dio, Yamaha Ray, Suzuki Let’s and Hero Pleasure.

TVS Motors, India’s fourth largest two wheeler maker promises a new product every quarter over the next three years. This slew of launches is what the company predicts will allow it to occupy podium position which as on date is dominated by Hero Motocorp, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India and Bajaj Auto.
