Upcoming Maruti cars for India in 2014/15

When going gets tough, tough get going and this is exactly the case with Maruti Suzuki India Limited. In a tough and competitive market scenario, the company has announced a slew of new models and facelifts for the year ahead. These new offerings are being planned to cement Maruti Suzuki’s position as No.1 automaker in the country. For 2014-15, Maruti Suzuki is planning on a facelifted Swift and Swift DZire, a new Maruti Ciaz, XA Alpha compact SUV and SX4 S Cross.

2014 Maruti Swift facelift has already been launched in Japan and some countries in Europe. It will be making its way to dealerships in India by end of 2014 and just ahead of the festive season. Similar in a number of respects to the present model, the new Swift will see L shaped LEDs, new fog lamps and bumper while the top end variant will receive 16” alloy wheels.

Interiors will sport an auto up touch function for passenger windows and electronically adjustable side view mirrors along with automatic headlamps and start/stop function.

2014 Maruti Swift Dzire facelift will also launch ahead of the festive season in India and will see similar modifications as those being offered on the Swift. It will, however, continue with its 1.2-litre K-Series petrol and 1.3-litre multijet diesel engine options.

Maruti Suzuki showcased its new Ciaz at the 2014 Auto Expo where it received a great amount of attention. To replace Maruti Suzuki SX4, the new Ciaz takes inspiration from Suzuki Authentics Concept and receives a complete makeover as compared to the SX4 though it will share the same platform. To compete with the Honda City and Hyundai Verna once launched, the Ciaz will be powered by a 1.4 liter K2 petrol engine while an automatic version is also expected following the success seen with the new Celerio.
