Volkswagen Group dealerships to master automotive technology and customer orientation from Central Training Centre near Pune

The ground breaking ceremony for setting up a new Central Training Centre at Chakan near Pune was announced by Volkswagen Group India. This centre will offer training to the company’s dealers across India so as to enable them deal with customers and be well versed in automotive technology used by the company. Dr. John Chacko, Chief Representative in India for Volkswagen Group along with other office bearers of the company were present at the ground breaking ceremony of Central Training Centre at Chakan, the construction of which will be completed by end of this year.

This step is taken by VW towards training facilities of their dealers and ensuring that it equips them with better skills so as to be on same level as Volkswagen Groups international standards. Various behavioral training and technical oriented programs will be conducted by the training centre where dealers will be provided training on new models launched and dealing with Volkswagen’s elite list of customers. The aim of the centre was in development of technical competence so as to enhance dealer’s knowhow on latest technologies used by Volkswagen besides offering them soft skills and effective communication techniques.

Dr. John Chacko had this to say. “One of our main strategic goals is to be the top employer and to have a highly skilled workforce. Education and Training is the key and here we set the basis for our future growth plans. Last year, we introduced the Volkswagen Group Technical Education Program VG-TAP which support polytechnics with our latest training equipment and products so that the students get education at the highest professional level. So far, seven schools across India are operating with this program. In August, we inaugurated our first Regional Training Centre in Chandigarh for the existing employees at the Volkswagen Group dealerships. The Central Training Centre will enable us to train the employees at Volkswagen dealerships in every aspect of automotive technology and customer orientation.”

Director Group Service, Volkswagen Group Sales India Private Limited, Mr. Hildebrandt had this to say. “The centre will aim at developing technical competence and offer syllabus to enhance knowledge of Volkswagen dealership employees on the latest Volkswagen automotive technologies. This will lead the Group to prepare industry ready professionals. The Volkswagen Group dealership employees will benefit from the various training programs offered at the centre.”
