Yamaha MT-15 to get keyless ignition system? (New Spy Shots)

Yamaha MT-15

Spied on test, the Yamaha MT-15 could be offered with keyless ignition system.

Yamaha could be providing the MT-15 streetfighter with advanced technology. Keyless ignition system includes a RFID equipped key fob which in the vicinity of the bike sends out a unique code to the receiver thereby unlocking it and allows compete access to the vehicle.

Spied testing in Indonesia, Yamaha MT-15 was noted without the electric start button. It features a Delta frame as seen on the naked version of Yamaha R15 and an inverted telescopic fork. Other features include LED headlights, LED tail lamps and new turn indicators. Its makeup will also include exhaust canisters, rear swing arm and foot rest hangers besides rear mug guard.

Slated to sport the same engine as seen on the YZF-R15, Yamaha MT-15 could receive a liquid cooled 149.8cc SOHC 4 valve engine offering 17PS power at 8,500 rpm and 15 NM torque at 7,500 rpm mated to a 6 speed gearbox. Said to be nearly production ready, launch of the Yamaha MT-15 is around the corner, probably sometime during the December 2016 to February 2016 period. Showcasing at the EICMA show in Milan from November 19-22, 2015 is also on the cards.

Launch of the Yamaha M-15 in India is yet to be confirmed where it will compete directly with the Bajaj Pulsar 200NS, (whose production is currently suspended).
