2013 Honda CR-V diesel for Europe, only petrol for India
Honda Cars India will be launching the new 2013 CR-V in India later today, but only with a petrol option, whereas Europe will get a 1.6L diesel CR-V next month. Honda India has confirmed that India will not get the diesel variant for the 2013 model CR-V.
The 2013 model comes in with a sound foundation as the earlier generation CR-V which possesses two petrol engine options did fairly well in Indian markets. It was only when diesel engined competition came in that the CR-V suffered a setback which was coupled with ever escalating petrol prices. The new generation CR-V will once again come in with two petrol engine options with the company holding off its diesel engined variant for some time. In European market, the Honda CR-V will be fitted with a 1.6 liter i-DTEC diesel engine. This will debut at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show in March and will be offered exclusively for European markets therafter, reports 3dcarshows.
The diesel variant will be seed with two wheel drive options with them mated to a manual transmission. It is this lightweight i-DTEC EarthDreams diesel engine that will also contribute to better fuel economy and lower auto emissions. Image gallery of the 2013 Honda CR-V.
