Audi India continues to be No 1 with best ever sales in Q1 2014 #AudiNo1

India’s largest luxury car manufacturer, Audi India continued to be at the top with best ever sales reported for the first quarter of 2014. Registering 2740 unit sales in Jan-Mar 2014 period, Audi India sales for the financial year 2013/14 stood at 10,126. The best performance yet, for an Indian luxury car maker.

Audi India continues to be No 1 with best ever sales in Q1 2014Audi India’s performance was boosted in the month of March 2014, during which they sold 1404 cars, a record sales for any luxury car maker in the country. Compared to March 2013, when they sold 1104 units, their sales grew by a record 18% last month. In doing so, Audi continues to keep their nose ahead of rivals Mercedes Benz India and BMW India. India’s second largest car maker, Mercedes Benz India sold 2554 units for Q1 2014, and their sales figures for financial year 2013/14 stand at 9548 units.

“The double achievement of selling 10000 units in a single financial year and calendar year validates the strength and stature that the brand has achieved in India. We are looking forward to consolidate our position while growing profitably in the future as well. In line with our top-down strategy, we will be launching the next big Audi – Audi A3 Sedan later this year. Globally, the Audi A3 has been a great success and I feel that it is just the right product for the Indian market and will further delight customers across the country,” said Mr. Joe King, Head, Audi India.

Audi is also the market leader in the sports car segment in India and the launch of the Audi RS 7 sportback has further consolidated our leadership in performance cars in India. Audi began the year with a momentous step – the introduction of the most powerful Audi model from its product range – Audi RS 7 Sportback in presence of it’s first owner – Salman Khan. The company also opened new showrooms in Udaipur, Visakhapatnam and Nashik. The German luxury car manufacturer thrilled fans with products exhibiting technology, design and sportiness at the 2014 Auto Expo in February. Audi also rolled out the third edition of the multi-city Audi Q-Drive 2014 in February.
