BMW recalls 176,000 petrol cars model year 2012-14
German automakers BMW is recalling 176,000 vehicles from model year 2012-14 over deficiencies noted in the power brake system. Customers are being notified by mail and are being asked to bring in their vehicles for repair and replacement of defective parts.
BMW has stated that in rare cases there could be an interruption of oil supply to a part which would require the driver to press down harder on the pedal. The recall involved a total of 76,200 vehicles in the US with affected models include 125i compacts; 320i and 328i sedans; 520i and 528i sedans; X1 28i, 20i and 16i SUVs; X3 20i and 28i SUVs; and Z4 28i, 20i and 18i sports cars, reports NBC. All these models are equipped with BMW’s 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine.
