Force Motors, automotive majors in India have launched a 26 seater monocoque panel van on Tuesday. Named Traveller 26, this van sees some interesting features being offered for the first time on a midsized van in this segment. Priced at Rs.10,87,900 (ex-showroom New Delhi) Traveller 26 is powered by a common rail engine under license from Daimler AG, Germany which offers 129 PS power and 295 NM torque while it also boasts of highest power to weight ratio of 18 Kw per tonne as against standard 12 Kw per tonne seen in other vehicles in its category.

Being fitted with Dual Mass Fly Wheel technology is what will contribute to a smoother ride even at slow speeds and this is what will make this vehicle ideal for use as school buses or as tourist transport vehicles in India. Fuel efficiency is at a premium and according to the company Traveller 26 possesses 15% better fuel efficiency than any other model in its class.

Traveller 26 is fitted with ventilated disc brakes on all wheels and being of a monocoque construction durability and power are at their optimum. The vehicle has a body interior of 2.2 meters which contributes to enhance seating comforts and a wide aisle. Tata Motors have already rolled Marco Polo and M&M offers competition too. Traveller 26 is being manufactured at their Pithampur plant. 10,000 units will make up their first phase with the second phase coming out after a gap of one year. Traveller 26 will be available from all Force Motors 27 dealers in both Maharashtra and Goa.
