Honda ATVs India launch in the works
Noting increased demand for ATVs – All-Terrain Vehicles, Honda Motor Company is planning to introduce their ATVs in India. ATVs have found a lucrative market here in India, right from individual buyers to the hospitality sector, for recreation facilities and for use in construction, mining, farming, forest, Military Police and Para Military Forces, all are using ATVs.
Rising demand in India has finally pushed Honda to bring in high end all-terrain vehicles to India, where they will compete with Polaris, reveals ET. Sales of ATV is India account for around 1200 units per annum while costs vary according to capacity, right from INR 8 lakhs to INR 13 lakhs for the single seater ATVs, to around INR 28 lakhs for the larger ATVs with more seating capacities for upto six adults.
Polaris is currently the leader as it has a strong presence in the country, ever since they entered through their wholly owned subsidiary in 2011. (Polaris India is part of Polaris Industries)
