Honda gets set to launch their new Honda Brio Automatic on October 18, 2012 just prior to the festive season in the country. This variant will be powered by an automatic 1.2liter i-VTEC engine offering 88 PS power at 6000 rpm and 109 Nm torque at 4500 rpm with fuel efficiency will stand at 16.5kmpl. The engine will be mated to a five speed automatic transmission which is also seen in the Honda City.

Use of this transmission offers three driving modes in excess of the regulars which include a D3, 2 and 1. In D3 mode sees a gearbox shift option between 1st, 2nd and 3rd gears while in the 2 mode option, gearbox is retained at 2nd gear only while in the 1 mode the gearbox stays in 1st gear alone.

Brio Automatic will be offered in two variants S (O) and V, while prices are expected to be in the Rs.60,000 to Rs.70,000 over the manual Honda Brio. Power windows, keyless entry, integrated audio system with steering mounted control, ABS with EBD and tilt steering are offered in the base model, while the top end V Model will sport alloy wheels, fog lamps and interiors done up in a dual tone beige. Once launched the Brio Automatic will compete with Maruti Suzuki A Star and Hyundai i10 Automatic.
