Honda Cars India Limited has announced that the new Honda Brio Automatic will be launched in India during the month of October, ahead of Diwali. Honda Brio despite being a petrol variant is expected to be a crowd puller even though higher petrol prices are taking a toll on sales of small and compact petrol cars in India. Honda Brio Automatic will compete with the i10 Automatic and Maruti Suzuki A Star.

Brio Automatic will be powered by the same 1.2 liter iVTEC engine that powers the manual Brio. Honda Brio is a practical and versatile car in its segment and coming in with an Automatic version will make it even more practical for urban use.

The Japanese automakers have already offered an automatic version with 4-Speed CVT in Thailand and Indonesian markets and are expecting the same success to be seen once it is launched in Indian markets. Here the Brio AT will attract an additional Rs.50,000 to Rs.70,000 over the manual one.
