Mr. Rakesh Srivastava, Senior Vice President (Sales and Marketing), HMIL, has said to Autocar Professional that automatic variant of Elite i20 is available with petrol engine and the company will reveal its price soon.
It is likely that 1.4 litre Gamma VTVT petrol engine producing 100 PS max. power at 5,500 rpm and 136 Nm peak torque at 4,200 rpm mated to 4 speed automatic transmission already seen in earlier i20 model will be used in Elite i20 AT variant.
First generation Hyundai i20 for markets in Europe was initially for few years manufactured in and exported from India. New Elite i20 will be exported to Europe from the company’s plant in Turkey. Same facility sends new i10, which is known as Grand i10 in India. Mr. Srivastava said HMIL would consider exporting Elite i20 to markets in Asia, Middle East, Latin America and Australia.
