Hyundai Motor hosts PassoCorto two-seater coupe concept at Milan Design Week 2014
Hyundai Motor’s support for future design talent has headed to the ongoing 2014 Milan Design Week (8-13 April). Istituto Europeo di Design (IED) is exhibiting its PassoCorto compact (4100 mm) car, which weighs just 840 kgs and is designed by IED students and commissioned by Hyundai.
PassoCorto was revealed last month at the Geneva Motor Show, and is now on display at the IED Milan Campus facility through Milan Design Week. Commissioned by Hyundai, compact PassoCorto (short wheelbase) ultra-lightweight sports car concept is a mid-engined two-seater coupe created by a team of 16 students at IED and is aimed to appeal to Gen Y consumers.
Allan Rushforth, Senior Vice President and COO at Hyundai Motor Europe, said, “Design is the number one reason customers choose Hyundai vehicles in Europe. So we are delighted to nurture the young European talent who will be designing the cars of the future. The PassoCorto concept is the result of an exciting cooperation, and we hope it will inspire the next generation of designers.”
Thursday 10 April, IED Milan Campus hosts a special presentation and discussion open to the public, on the ‘Young. Creative. Work.’ theme. Luca Borgogno, Senior Designer Pininfarina and Head of IED Turin Transportation Design, and Nicola Danza, Exterior Design Manager at Hyundai Design Centre Europe will present PassoCorto and hold discussions.
