Indian Railways’ IT wing and Microsoft present NTES mobile app

National Train Enquiry System (NTES) now has a new mobile app and desktop app on Windows 8 platform developed by Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS), Indian Railways’ IT wing in consultation with Microsoft.

Indian RailwaysThe backend NTES system provides information about real time train running. NTES app is now available for download and public use from 23rd April 2014 onward. Following Windows 8.0, the app will be developed for other mobile platforms.

NTES’ new website interface and Mobile version was launched in September 2013. To download the app, go to windows store and search for NTES app. App features include:
“Spot your train” – For info about a train including running status, and expected time of arrival/expected time of departure (ETA/ETD).
“Live Station” – To check a trains expected arrival/departure at any station in next 2 or 4 hours.
“Train Schedule”- Complete train schedule listing all stoppages enroute and schedule arrival/departure at a station, distance and day count.
“Trains between Stations” – Lists all trains available between any 2 stations over Indian Railways.
“Cancelled Trains” – Lists trains marked as cancelled through entire route as well as trains cancelled on partial route on Indian Railways.
“Rescheduled Trains” – Displays all trains marked as rescheduled dispalying trains’ rescheduled timings.
“Diverted Trains” – Displays all trains marked as diverted.
