Intelligent Energy and Suzuki Motor Corp JV of Fuel Cell production plant progress

SMILE FC System Corporation is an alliance between Intelligent Energy and Suzuki Motor Corporation which draws attention to a ready to scale production plant for fuel cell systems. Based in Yokohama, Japan, its production line showcased transfer of semi automated production technology by Intelligent Energy which includes production of fuel cell systems.

This has contributed immensely to reduction of manufacturing and assembly costs while cycle times have been enhanced along with product quality. Fuel cell stacks to be integrated in Suzuki vehicles are being produced at this unit while processes will be augmented so as to meet increased demand. The joint venture includes Intelligent Energy fuel cell technology under non exclusive license and was initiated in February 2012. This JV has proved its worth over the past one year.

Fuel Cell systems prove to be highly effective and economical besides being contributing to higher level of efficiency for integration into clean energy vehicles. This system goes a long way in reducing carbon emissions in vehicles and contributing to a greener footprint.
