JFK’s last ride before assassination turns up for auction
Two Lincoln’s which were used by former US president John F Kennedy, one on the day of his assassination in 1963, are up for auction. These two Lincoln’s include a black 1961 Lincoln Continental Limousine and a 1960 armored Lincoln Continental in which JFK and Jacqueline Kennedy along with John Connally, the Governor of Texas drove on the morning of that fateful day.
JFK’s personal rosary will also go on sale at Boston’s Omni Parker House Hotel on October 24. These well worn beads are the most personal possession of JFK ever to go on auction. It may be remembered that JFK was the only Catholic to serve in the White House and he gave this particular rosary as a gift to his friend David Powers. Bidding of the rosary will begin from $10,000, but could go all the way upto $ 1million as it comes with a letter written by Power’s son to authenticate its origins and the solace it gave to his father.
