M&M expects to launch the just unveiled Halo electric sports vehicle in the next three years, but unless there is full Government support in India, could hit overseas markets prior to its launch in the country.
Mahindra & Mahindra offered some details of the new Halo electric sports car stating that the model will receive an all electric motor developing approximately 140 bhp. Due to its high capacity battery it can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in less than 8 seconds and reach a top speed of 160 kmph with a range of 200 km on a full recharge. Halo electric sports car is designed and developed in India by designers from Pininfarina and Bertone who are part of the Mahindra Reva in-house design team.
To ensure that electric vehicles are more popular and convenient for use, Mahindra Reva has also developed a quick charging station. With a port provided at the rear of the e2o next to its number plate, the car can be plugged into the charging station via a cable while a full charge will take just one hour.
