Mahindra sales stagnant in June 2014, 38,471 units sold
Mahindra & Mahindra sales growth for 2014 June is marginal at 1% with 38,471 units sold over 38,092 vehicles sold in June 2013. Passenger vehicle sales (including UVs and Verito) stood at 16,780 units in June 2014 as against 17232 units sold in June 2013 to register 35 sales decline.
When compared to 17,232 units sold in June 2013, it equates to 3% sales decline. M&M’s domestic sales stood at 36,457 units during June 2014, as against 36,207 units during June 2013 equating to .69% sales growth.
Sales in June 2014 for 4-wheelers commercial segment, 3-wheelers segment and exports stood at 14,138, 4,544 , and 2,014 units over 13761, 4303 and 1885 units sold in June 2013 to report marginal single digit sales growth for each. Mahindra Trucks and Buses registered 995 units in sales in June 2014 over 911 units sold in June 2013.
Pravin Shah, Chief Executive, Automotive Division & International Operations (AFS), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. hopes the auto industry continues to stay in a positive zone. Government extension of excise duty concession till 2014 year end will offer a boost over the next few months leading up to a traditional high sales period here during the festive season. Despite marginal sales growth, Mahindra exports through Q1 FY 2015 has grown by 38%.
