10+ million Mercedes-Benz C-Class cars sold globally, Baby Benz local manufacturing in India since 2001
Mercedes Benz has announced that 10+ million units of the C Class have been sold to day. This compact line was introduced in 1982 starting with the Mercedes Benz 190 and this is the fourth generation C Class that has proved its popularity and can be stated to be the most successful models for the brand.
C Class was voted as the 2011 Company Car of the Year in Germany and is found to be a favored vehicle for the business class who opt for the Mercedes Benz C 220 CDI Estate due to its high level of fuel efficiency. Due to its high level of popularity, the C Class will be the only Mercedes Benz vehicle to be produced from four continents from the coming year. 2014 onwards, the C Class will be made from company plants in Bremen in Germany, East London in South Africa, Beijing in China and Tuscaloosa, USA. The C Class sees a growing market in the US, South Africa and BRIC countries while there is increased demand for the estate all across Europe.
