Mercedes Benz CLA is the most aerodynamic vehicle
Mercedes Benz CLA compact sedan aerodynamic vehicle. It is slated to have overall drag co-efficiency of 0.22 as against Toyota Prius which has 0.25 and BMWâ€™s 320d EfficientDynamics which is at 0.26.
The upcoming vehicle will be powered by a 1.6 liter four cylinder petrol engine which Mercedes Benz has brought out along with Renault. This engine will be capable of 120 bhp and 147 lb/ft torque and will be able to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 9.9 seconds. It will however, have a limited top speed of 118 mph.
Combined fuel consumption along with auto emissions are also at their best which is at 56.5 mpg and 118g/km. This is as against the standard Mercedes Benz CLA 180 which is rated at 52.3 mpg and 126 g/km respectively. Enhanced aerodynamic development will be initiated due to the opening of a new wind tunnel at the companyâ€™s R&D facility in Sindelfingen. This includes a rolling road across a 19m long floor area which is capable of providing measurements at upto 165 mph.
Mercedes Benz CLA Edition 1 is available only for a year. With a huge possobility to customise, the car can be combined with any engine. Front and rear AMG frills, side sill panels and black painted multi-spoke AMG light-alloy wheels, a diamond radiator grille with black fin and chrome inserts, Bi-xenon headlamps, and a lowered sports suspension are part of the Mercedes Benz CLA Edition 1.
