New Suzuki motorcycle plant Philippines opening ceremony

Suzuki Philippines Incorporated of Suzuki Motor Corporation has formally opened their new motorcycle plant in the country. The plant, situated at Carmelray Industrial Park, Canlubang, Laguna had been under construction since July 2011. It is now finally complete in all respects and ready to commence production facilities. The new unit stands on a 126,599 sq. meter area and is expected to support Suzuki motorcycle production by 2013.

Demand in the region is on the rise and a new plant with enhanced facilities is the need of the hour to meet these growing demands in a more efficient and time bound manner. The new plant is situated at Calamba and will cater to an ever increasing demand for Suzuki motorcycles in the country. During the financial year 2011, the company sold 97,000 units.

Demand is on the rise and the new plant will have an annual production capacity of 200,000 units. Suzuki Philippines will undertake production of parts such as frames, mufflers and tanks from this new facility and will also enhance local parts procurement to offer better machines and processes in the future.
