Details of the new Tata Aria crossover have been leaked. To be powered by the same 2.2l VARICOR engine, the new Tata Aria crossover will deliver 150 PS power and 320 Nm torque. This is an increase of 10 PS in power as compared to the existing Aria. Torque output remains same.

The torque figures indicate that this is not the same engine which was showcased at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. That one had a torque output of 400 Nm. The leaked brochure below, reveals that the new engine is refined not only to deliver more power, but also more mileage. Compared to the current engine, which delivered ARAI certified mileage of 13.5 kmpl, this one delivers a mileage of 15.05 kmpl.

New Tata Aria with with improved power and efficiency (1)New features on offer the new Tata Aria include Harmon music system, dual parabola projector headlamps, clear-lens side blinkers and new decals on the side. Other features on offer include – 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, disc brakes on all four wheels, ESP & TCS, climate control with dual AC, cruise control, pillar mounted AC vents, NAVTEQ navigation system, Tata Blue 5 Connect, rain sensing wipers, auto headlights, a smart 4×4 drive system. Price of new Tata Aria is yet to be revealed.

Currently, Tata offers the Aria in a range of Rs 10-15 lakh. Launched at the 2010 Delhi Auto Expo, Aria did not register impressive sales figures, mostly due to the launch of XUV500, and later due to Renault Duster. Under the HorizoNEXT campaign, Tata Motors has promised to refurbish their entire lineup and this is a step in that direction.
