Piaggio adds sportiness with new Vespa S: Price starts from Rs 74,414
Yet to be launched officially in India, the Piaggio Vespa S is now on sale in Pune for an ex-showroom price of Rs 74,414. Including registration and insurance, you can avail the new Vespa S scooter for an on-road price of Rs 82,000. Piaggio will officially launch the Vespa S at an event in Pune on 4th March.
The dealer says that that the Vespa S is on sale since 22nd this month, and is available as on-the-spot. Compared to the regular Vespa, the visible change, is the rectangular headlight shape giving the Vespa S a retro look. Apart from this, position of tail-light has also has been modified, while wheel design is similar to that of other Vespa scooters, but the Vespa S gets them powder-coated.
Engine options aboard the Vespa S is the same air-cooled 125cc petrol engine delivering 10.06 PS and 10.6 Nm torque, which is seen on VX and LX125. Transmission too is same in the form of CVT. Built on their signature steel monocoque chassis, Vespa S features 200mm front disc brakes and 140 mm rear disc brakes. For suspensions, front of Vespa S will have single side hydraulic system, for rear it will be the monoshock system. Vespa is costlier than Vespa VX top of the line by about Rs 4,000.
