Renault India has planned a number of events, displays and launches at the 2011 Airtel Indian Grand Prix scheduled to take place on 28-30 October 2011. Mr. Carlos Ghosn, Chairman of Renault who will be at the show has announced an investment of Rs.6.5 crores. French auto manufacturers will be unveiling a new concept hatchback at the F1 GP. Renault India plans on introducing the hatchback in the Indian auto industry by early 2012.
Len Curran, Vice President â€“ Sales and marketing has mentioned that the company has a lot of events planned for the F1 Grand Prix. Besides showcasing engines and putting an F1 car on display, the auto makers have also planned a host of competitions at various malls wherein F1 tickets can be won.
At the recent unveiling of Koleos SUV in Pune, Curran said that the company had plans of opening two more showrooms in Pune by middle of next year. Fluence which was recently introduced, has been doing well in sales and the company has already sold 700 such vehicles of which 80% were diesel variants. Curran announced that Renault will be releasing a mini SUV Duster at the start of 2012 and will add five new vehicles by end of next year.
