Global sales increased 23% in the month of March 2012 as compared to March 2011. Tata Motors along with Jaguar Land Rover accounted for sales of 139,655 units in the month. Sales of Tata Motors passenger cars stood at 75,864 units, a rise of 41% while sales of Jaguar Land Rover brands stood at 36,471, a rise of 51% during the month.
In the fiscal year that ended March 2012, Tata sold 1,252,173 cars globally resulting in a 16% increase as compared to sales in the previous fiscal. Sales of their commercial vehicles too were up by 12% to 63,791 units in the month of March 2012 as compared to the same month in 2011.

Tata Motors Group global wholesales at 139,655 vehicles in March 2012
The Tata Motors Group global wholesales, including Jaguar Land Rover, were 1,39,655 nos., in March 2012, higher by 26% over March 2011. Cumulative sales for the fiscal are 1,252,173, higher by 16% compared to the corresponding period in 2010-11.
Global sales of all commercial vehicles – Tata, Tata Daewoo and the Tata Hispano Carrocera range – were 63,791 nos., in March 2012, a growth of 12%. Cumulative sales for the fiscal are 599,927 nos., a growth of 17%.
Global sales of all passenger vehicles were at 75,864 nos. in March 2012, higher by 41%. Cumulative sales for the fiscal are 652,246 nos., higher by 14%.
Global sales of Tata passenger vehicles and the distribution offtake in India of Fiat cars were at 39,393 nos., for the month, higher by 32% over March 2011. Cumulative sales for the fiscal are at 337,813 nos., higher by 3% over March 2011.
Global sales of Jaguar Land Rover in March 2012 were at 36,471 vehicles, higher by 51% over March 2011. Jaguar sales for the month were 5,343 nos., higher by 42%, while Land Rover sales were 31,128 nos., higher by 53%. Cumulative sales of Jaguar Land Rover for the fiscal are 314,433 nos., higher by 29%. Cumulative sales of Jaguar are 54,039 nos., higher by 2%, while cumulative sales of Land Rover are 260,394 nos., higher by 37%.
