Tata Motors School Bus Safety Awareness Program

Parents, children, bus attendees, drivers and staff at the Podar International School were put through the motions with a School Bus Safety Awareness Program conducted by Tata Motors.

This is a national level program during which the company conducts mock drills titled ‘Safety Hamaare Bus Mein’ on safety measures to be resorted to in the event of accident or fire.‘Dream it to Win it’ is a national essay and painting competition while ‘Hamare Bus ki Baat Hai’ is specially designed for school bus attendees.

Held at the Podar International School in Santacruz, Mumbai on Monday, Tata Motors dealt with various issues on bus safety which were designed to sensitise and motivate both children and school bus staff.

Tata Motors has also devised the Safest School Bus Concept wherein unique features are being offered on board in the form of 2 cameras on the front windshield and saloon area, a monitor to capture and display real time images, a DVR system with GPS sensors, rear view camera with display monitor on dashboard, roof mounted flashing lamps which will indicate when door is opened and door buzzer and indicator on dash board. Besides these features the bus concept will also support 64 GB Micro SDHC card for recording, an electronic front destination board and stop request switch on each seat location. Safety features will also include 2 point lap seat belts, grab rail handles, fire extinguishers and rear breakable windshield with hammer.
